TalkyMail System Requirements

bulletWindows 95/98/2000/NT.
bulletInternet Explorer version 3.02 or later.
bulletA Pentium 100 MHz PC (or faster).
bulletAt least 16MB of RAM.
bulletA Windows-compatible sound card.
bulletMicrosoft Agent 2.0 Control (Included in the Full setup).

Requirements for receiving and sending with TalkyMail:

bulletYour Internet Service Provider (ISP) should support POP3 for receiving .

General Problems:

  1. The character is appearing on the screen but I can't hear the character's voice?
  2. I don't see the Mouse Pointer when I type or compose a new message?
  3. I get POP3 Error #111, when checking my email, what do I do?
  4. I want to be able to check my Yahoo Mail, what do I do?
  5. I want to be able to check my HotMail account Mail, what do I do?
  6. I want to be able to check my AOL account, what do I do?
  7. How do I install more Languages and Voices and where do I get them from?
  8. I get a profile password prompt when I didn't set one up! What do I do?

General Problems

1) The character is appearing on the screen but I can't hear the character's voice?

One or more of the Microsoft Agent components are not installed properly. To fix this problem, please follow the following steps:

  1. Install the FULL Version of TalkyMail and then run the following setups from the Start Menu/TalkyMail folder:
    bulletMicrosoft Agent 2.0
    bulletL & H TruVoice Engine
  2. Install the Downloaded Files by clicking on them and then following the setup.
  3. Once both files are installed successfully, you should restart your computer
  4. Run TalkyMail again, and see if the problem is fixed

2) I don't see the Mouse Pointer when I type or compose a new message?

  1. Go to your windows Control Panel.
  2. Double Click on the Icon 'Mouse'.
    bulletThis mostly implies to the 'MS Intellipoint mouse'.
  3. Go to the 'Visibility' tab of that window.
  4. Uncheck the  'Hide Pointer While Typing' Checkbox.

3) I get POP3 Error #111, when checking my email, what do I do?

  1. You have to be sure about your POP3 Host Name and Login Info (User name and Password)
    bulletIf you are NOT sure about your POP3 Hostname, please contact your ISP (Internet service 
    Provider) and ask them about your POP3 Hostname

4) I want to be able to check my Yahoo Mail, what do I do?

  1. If you Don't have a Yahoo Mail account, click here to get one for FREE.
  2. If you have already signed up for one, please do the following in order:
    bulletRun TalkyMail and create an account (a Yahoo Account)
    bulletUse the following information to setup your Yahoo account in TalkyMail:
    bulletEmail Address:  <user name>@yahoo.com
    bulletIncoming Mail (POP3) Server: =>   pop.mail.yahoo.com
    bulletOutgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: =>  smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    bulletUser name: <Your Yahoo user name (without the @yahoo.com part)
    bulletPassword:  <Your Yahoo Password>
    bulletLeave everything in the advanced as it is if you are not sure.
    bulletAfter filling all the information, please Create your account by pressing on the 'Create' Button.
    bulletSelect your Yahoo Mail account from the list (if there is more than one account in the list)
    and click on the 'Login' Button to login to your Yahoo Mail account
  3. If you get any problems or error logging in your Account please visit the following page:

5) I want to be able to check my HotMail account, what do I do?

  1. In our new release, 2002.10.0 , you can check your HotMail messages but you have to pay for them in order to have access to use it from any program (not using the web):

    HotMail offers POP access on a for-fee basis. If you have registered for this premium service, you should have received detailed information regarding server settings. Please email me any questions if you are not sure and I will be glad to help.

6) I want to be able to check my AOL account, what do I do?

  1. Please download and install the following program:
    bulletEnetbot (That is for AOL to work with TalkyMail).
    bulletFrom: http://www.enetbot.com/enetbotmail.exe

  2. Just install it. Donít fill in any of the information it asks. Just install it and leave it on your Taskbar.

  3. Now run TalkyMail and Edit your AOL account/Profile. Type the following information:
  4. Enter the following information in your AOL account (In TalkyMail):
    bulletUsername        :   your AOL user/login Name
    bulletPassword         :   your AOL password
    bulletPOP3 Server    :  aol.enetbot.com
    bulletSMTP Server   :   aol.enetbot.com
  5. Make sure you enter this information instead in your AOL account.
  6. Now click on 'Change' (If you are Editing your account); or click on' Create' (if you creating a new Account).

7) How do I install more Languages and Voices and where do I get them from?

  1. Please go to the Languages and Voices webpage to find out how to download, install and use your favorite language.

8)I get a profile password prompt when I didn't set one up! What do I do?

  1. Please download the full version of TalkyMail (2002.10.0 ). Download it from here
